comma Store — Mannheim, DE
Comma’s new store design concept was developed in close cooperation with the design team of the sOliver Group in the course of the brand reorientation. The design reflects the brand’s mission statement «proud of you» and comes across as self-confident, feminine and elegant. The high-end interior design underlines the premium quality of the collections and simultaneously communicates customer appreciation.
The store’s style is characterised by individuality, diversity and feminine elegance while avoiding formal opulence. It aims at creating a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere by using natural materials and a reduced, calm colour scheme in warm, light nude shades. This understated approach gives centre stage to the merchandise. The bronze clothes racks and wave pattern velour wall in velvety taupe attractively contrast the pale colours of the walls and pedestals. Natural stone flooring and well-placed furniture in light oak further enhance the down to earth look. Stone tiles applied to the pedestals create a harmonious connection to the floor covering.
Part of the eye-catching furniture are the checkout counter, open cupboards and specially designed chests of drawers, developed as reinterpretations of classic shop furniture. The folding three-part mirror in the dressing rooms is also reminiscent of antique dressing tables. These unique pieces add to the store’s charming personality, diversity and boutique character.
A variety of merchandise presentations creates multiple options for product placement. The bronze clothes rails are made of round steel tubing with rounded angles. In addition, the tubes are curved in a wave-like manner that soften the impact of clothes being hanged on them. Overall, the soft shapes in combination with round corners and the wave pattern wall complete the store’s light and feminine ambience.
Indirect lighting in the changing rooms via backlit ceiling sails, folding mirrors, a soft high-floor carpet and boucle´ armchairs in warm taupe create an experience of warmth and comfort.
