Based on the local proximity to art, creativity and music, the station « Holstenstraße » presents a colorful variety of well-known Hamburg musicians. Since this S-Bahn station serves mainly as a traffic area, the design is also inspired by the concept of constant movement. Song lyrics ranging from typical Hamburg folk to modern rap songs are displayed throughout the passage of the station. In all directions, the lyrics are tastefully arranged on the entire ceiling area, perhaps even encouring some visitors to hum along. Following the texts on the ceiling and their content, matching graphics on some door surfaces of the station provide additional stimulation for the horizontal line of sight.
